Immigrant Rights

We care for the lives of migrants and refugees in the Bay Area and beyond.

Interfaith Movement

for Human Integrity

IM4HI advocates for immigrant rights and works to dismantle mass criminalization of people of color. We work with them to support and accompany migrant families.

With IM4HI, we have accompanied migrants along their immigration journeys, attended rallies & protests, hosted bond fundraisers, and provided financial support.

The LGBT Asylum Project

LGBT Asylum Project is the only SF nonprofit providing legal representation for LGBT asylum seekers fleeing persecution due to their sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status.

In June 2022, we raised over $4000 to support a legal case for an asylum-seeker under care with LGBT Asylum Project.

Food Insecurity

For over 20 years, we have distributed fresh food to our neighbors in need.

SF-Marin Food Bank

We partner with the Food Bank to serve over 5000 pounds of fresh groceries every Saturday morning. Get details at stjohnssf.org/harvest

With SF-Marin Food Bank, we host a weekly food pantry, organize volunteers, and provide financial support.

Housing + Homelessness

In addition to our own efforts, we partner with nonprofits focused on housing issues.

Habitat for Humanity Greater Bay Area

Habitat is currently building affordable housing in Diamond Heights where we have been volunteering. Pastor Theresa had the honor of blessing the groundbreaking.

With Habitat for Humanity, we organize volunteers for local builds and provide financial support.

Hamilton Families

Hamilton Families works to end family homelessness in San Francisco. Each week, we provide fresh groceries for families, as well as diapers & toiletries.

With Hamilton Families, we offer weekly donations of fresh food and provide financial support.

Creation Care

We are doing our best to care for the environmental concerns of our city & state.

Save the Redwoods

For Lent, we raised funds to replant every redwood used to construct our building (plus 25 more!) through Save the Redwoods, a regional nonprofit that protects & restores California forests.

For Save the Redwoods, we provided over $11,000 in financial support.

Community Building

We help rebuild communities affected by natural & human-caused issues.

Ohlone Shuumi Land Tax

We pay an annual tax to the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust, an urban, Indigenous women-led trust.

For the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust, we pay financial reparations.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

PDA responds to communities after catastrophic events. In Summer 2023, our youth will be going to Paradise, CA to help rebuild after the 2018 fires

For PDA, we provide volunteer and financial support.
