St. John's Stained Glass Window Restoration Project 2005 | Back PROCEDURE: After the glass is cleaned, breaks repaired, and plates prepared, the window is reassembled with new lead strips, and re-soldered. It is then hand puttied by pushing putty into every lead to provide stiffness and weatherproofing. The support bars were ground down to bare metal and coated with rust inhibitive enamel, then reattached to new wires. |
