PROCEDURE: Due to the paint loss, Justyn Zolli created cover plates for every single piece of glass within the mandorla. These plates are of thin, clear “restoration” glass cut to the exact size of the original. All restorative painting is performed on this plate. It is then sandwiched together with the original, protecting it from further paint loss and restoring the optical effect of completeness and integrity.
