PROCEDURE: Each piece is carefully cleaned and breaks are repaired with fine copper foil repair or epoxy edge glue. In this case, each piece had to be meticulously cleaned of a thin coating of yellow varnish, which changed the visual color of the glass and sealed in grime and soot. This is an enormously labor-intensive procedure.
