Maybe you’ve been coming to St. John’s for a couple weeks. Maybe ten years. Maybe you've already tested the waters and you're ready to ramp up your involvement. How do people get connected and develop friendships in a faith community?
Five great ways:
1. Connect! Attend a Commitment Class.
What’s at the heart of St. John’s? This class explores St. John’s, God, your purpose in life and spiritual growth. Contac
if interested.
2. Celebrate! Attend worship regularly.
During worship, there are many opportunities to engage – volunteer to read scripture, participate in music and other rituals, or enjoy the moments of silence and prayer. We encourage everyone to worship as they feel comfortable.
3. Be in Community! Join a group or a St. John’s sponsored activity.
Whether it's a small group where you connect through a Bible study or coming to a church picnic and potluck, groups and activities are the places to develop friendships. There's always something going on at this place.
4. Commit! Volunteer to help out.
Whether it’s teaching our children in our A.R.K. program or simply bringing goodies to share at worship, be part of something bigger than yourself. Use your gifts and experiences to serve others and develop friendships.
5. Be Compassionate! Serve the community.
St. John’s strives to be a community center with a congregation at its heart. Whether it’s handing out groceries through Harvest, showing stimulating films and documentaries through St. John’s Cinema, or opening our doors daily for personal prayer and reflection, we hope to be a sanctuary for not only St. John’s, but for the community as well.
