St. John’s believes that children are important in a faith community. They teach us how to be open to the Spirit and claim a child-like faith and curiosity. They remind us that we have a responsibility to nurture our children with a sense of community and acceptance that helps them develop their identity with the people of God and as a person of God.
There are five programs for our children and youth.
Sunday School programs are:
Lighthouse – childcare for infants and toddlers up to 3 years old.
Little Mariners Corner (ages 2-4) – offered in the back of the sanctuary, where Bible lesson are learned through concrete, hands-on activities and crafts.
A.R.K. (All Remarkable Kids) program (grades K-5) – Each week the children study a Biblical story in a different workshop using a different medium: art, video, mission, cooking, music, and drama.
Faith Navigators (grades 6-8) – this program dives into Bible stories through a mixture of hands-on activities and in-depth discussions and life applications.
Youth (High School), 6th-12th grade, volunteer for Harvest first Saturday of the month.
